Indian Valley Chamber of Commerce job fair set for March 7 - Montgomery Newspapers

FRANCONIA >> The jobs employers are looking to fill at Indian Valley Chamber of Commerce's second annual job fair run the gamut through positions at banks, schools, healthcare and social services providers, retirement communities and a few more.

"It's a really interesting and wide variety of positions," IVCC Executive Director Steven Hunsberger said.

This year's job fair runs 2 to 6 p.m. Tuesday, March 7 at Franconia Heritage Banquet & Conference Center at the intersection of Allentown Road and Route 113 in Franconia.

"We had really good attendance last year," Hunsberger said. "We had close to 300 jobseekers."

About 20 employers are expected, about the same amount as last year, Hunsberger said.

The jobs they're looking to fill include full-time and part-time positions, he said. There are also seasonal jobs, so students looking for summer jobs are also encouraged to attend the job fair, he said.

PA Career Link will also be there with resources for jobseekers, he said.

Some of the businesses say they can't find people experienced in the types of jobs for which they have openings, but that doesn't mean they're not hiring, he said.

"They're simply looking for people they can train," Hunsberger said.

The businesses at the job fair do not need to be IVCC members and not all are, he said.

A little less than two weeks before the job fair, the list of employers signed up to date included Access Services, Inc., A&T Chevrolet-Subaru, Clemens Food Group, Harleysville Savings Bank, Home Helpers, Indian Creek Foundation, LifePath, Living Branches, Lutheran Community at Telford, Moyer Indoor/Outdoor, Peaceful Living, Response Services, Solar Atmosphere, Souderton Area School District and Univest, with additional employers expected to be signed on by the fair date.

Jobseekers should bring copies of their resumes.

Moyer Indoor/Outdoor is the presenting sponsor of the Indian Valley Chamber of Commerce job fair.
