WARWICK, R.I. (WPRI) -- WPRI and FOX Providence hosted their 10th annual job fair at the Crowne Plaza in Warwick Monday. The event - which was held from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. - connected qualified job seekers with more than 100 local employers from a wide range of industries, including healthcare, law enforcement, food services, engineering, and the automotive field. "I worked for many years and I have not worked for a while now. I'm over 60 and the variety here, I think will give me an opportunity to meet people and see what they're looking for in careers also and to meet people that are offering jobs," said job seeker Victoria Taylor. On May 2, Patterson High School, in coordination with its Supply Chain & Logistics Advisory Committee and Truck Driving partners, will be hosting a job fair/hiring event for qualified Patterson High School students. The event will begin at 10:00 am until 1:00 pm, with a brief partner advisory meeting and facility tour to occur following the event until 1:30 pm. Due to an ever growing demand for skilled, qualified workers, and an incredible partnership between the District's Career Technical Education (CTE) programs and industry professionals, 20 industry partners have committed to participate in the job fair and are prepared to take Patterson High School student resumes, perform interviews on the spot, and in some cases hire the students directly upon graduation. The West Michigan retail giant is looking to hire about 175 people to work at the new Meijer , which will open this summer along 32nd Avenue just south of I-196 in Jamestown Township. The event will be held from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m.  Anyone looking to change careers, find a new job or seek networking opportunities is encouraged to attend, as more than 100 employers will be in attendance. Registration for attendees is available online .  Satellite parking for the event is available at the Warwick Mall in the lot behind Target by Nordstrom Rack. Signs will be posted. Shuttles to and from the event from satellite parking will run throughout the day.
