“Hiring our Heroes” job fair Thursday for veterans - TwinCities.com-Pioneer Press

A coalition of veterans and business groups are hosting a job fair Thursday for veterans, military personnel and military spouses at Target Field in Minneapolis.

The event kicks off at 9:30 a.m. with a Hiring Our Heroes workshop with job-hunting tips tailored to veterans. One-on-one sessions with volunteer career coaches who can help with mock interviews and resumes will follow.

The job fair runs from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. with representatives from 85 large and small employers with open positions, ranging from window and door manufacturer Andersen Corporation to Wells Fargo. Registration is encouraged, but walk-ins are welcome. Tips on what to wear, what to bring and what to expect are online at http://ift.tt/2cs1T8L.

The Medal of Honor Society sponsors similar events around the country, along with the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation. The local fair is supported by the Minnesota Chamber of Commerce, the Department of Labor Veterans' Employment and Training Service and other private groups and government agencies.
