Help Wanted! Hundreds Attend Job Fair in Hazleton - PA home page

HAZLETON, LACKAWANNA COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU)  Looking for work  takes a lot of work so say many of the people at a job fair  at Genetti's Ballrooms near Hazleton.
  It takes time, work and a commitment. More than 40 businesses  with all types of employment opportunities were there.
  Colleen Lanner is looking for work in the medical field.

 
"I like to work in healthcare helping the elderly helping the mentally challenged.There are a lot of booths around here with jobs."

Patrick Pilati just graduated from high school last year and  is looking for a job that could turn into a career.

 . "I don't know exactly what I'm looking for when i came here but I'm hopnig to find something."

Karen Gerrity  has a job but is looking for something to make some extra money.

 
"I'm in nursing so I'm looking for something in between. I like the job I have but I'm always looking for something in between to fill in with."

We found a lot of job possibilities-- in warehousing.transportation --healthcare and customer service.
 
 Bill Barilla is a shipping manager for Bradley Cadlell in West Hazleton.It is a wholesale distribution company.He had some advice for job seekers.

"I just think they have to be eager to be adaptable to whatever environment there going to come into. It''s very important not to come in with very slim expectations. You have to be open to different environments."

 The bottom line is this. The companies here are telling people to keep your options open. Be open to any kind of job that might be available and be willing to be retrained.
