Legoland Discovery Center job fair will fill 60 to 70 positions - MLive.com

AUBURN HILLS, MI — Legoland Discovery Center needs to hire people for dozens of part-time jobs, so the attraction is launching a job fair to fill the positions.

The job fair will last for much of the first full week of the new year, in an effort to fill 70 to 80 part-time positions,. It begins on Tuesday, Jan. 5, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., and continues on Wednesday from noon to 7 p.m., Thursday from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m., and ends Friday, Jan. 8, from 10 a.m. to 8:30 p.m.

Appointments are not required, and applicants must have flexible availability. Part-time applicants should be age 18 or older to operate rides and must be able to work up to 25 hours per week.

The fair will be at the District 6 entry of Great Lakes Crossing outlets in Auburn Hills.

"As a business built on fun, we are looking to welcome high-energy individuals to our team, who are motivated and as serious about entertainment as we are," said Hayley Anderson, general manager for Legoland Discovery Center Michigan, in a statement. "Finding applicants that exemplify these qualities will bring Legoland Discovery Center Michigan to life, and we are excited to start building the team that will help us successfully open this attraction in Auburn Hills this spring."

Legoland Discovery Center Michigan will feature more than 1 million Lego bricks and themed exhibits, including a 4D cinema; two interactive rides; large, soft play areas and a Michigan-themed Miniland display. It is tentatively scheduled to open in spring 2016.

The Miniland will include LEGO renditions of 10 Detroit-area landmarks: GM Renaissance Center, Spirit of Detroit, Belle Isle, Motown Museum, Fox Theater, Guardian Building, Comerica Park, Uniroyal Tire, Michigan Central Station and the Heidelberg Project. The GM Renaissance Center model will be revealed before the grand opening.

Earlier this month, Legoland announced that it was hiring a master builder to layout and create the structures at the center. The deadline for applications is Jan. 6, and a two-day Brick Factor competition on Saturday, Jan. 9, and Sunday, Jan. 10 will have the applicants compete against each other for the job.
