Two recent news stories out of Muskegon point to what could be some pretty cool work opportunities during 2016, in this reporter's humble opinion.

Work brewing craft beer in downtown Muskegon. I reported a couple of weeks ago that Pigeon Hill Brewing Co. was looking to expand into a beer-canning operation and retail operation in a 9,500-square-foor facility in downtown Muskegon the business has been renovating. The expansion in 2016 is supposed to create 10 jobs, according to paperwork filed with the city of Muskegon.

Work at an historical park. Brewing beer is a job for adults, so here's a job for teenagers. The Lakeshore Museum Center next year will hire teens ages 16-18 to work as seasonal workers at Michigan's Heritage Park in Whitehall Township, officials recently told me. The park features exhibits including wigwams, a fur trader cabin, civil war camp and farm house. Teens and their families can start looking for advertisements as early as January, I was told. Hiring and training will run March-April, with work starting in May.
