Hospital to host Job Fair - Mt. Vernon Register-News

MT. VERNON – SSM Health Good Samaritan Hospital and SSM Health St. Mary's Hospital are getting set to host a job fair and training expo from 1 to 7 p.m. Dec. 7 at the Holiday Inn.

"This is an opportunity for those seeking a career in health or seeking training and education for a career in health," said Kelli Stover, SCI-AHEC Director at Good Sam.

Many representatives and recruiters from local colleges and health centers will be in attendance to speak with participants.

"It's just a great opportunity for those seeking careers in health to speak with the people hiring for those positions." Stover said.

Local colleges and health centers will have booths set up with information and representatives from each establishment. The list of booths include Rend Lake College, Kaskaskia College, Frontier Community College, McKendree University, Southern Illinois University-Edwardsville, SSM Health Good Samaritan Hospital, Hamilton Memorial Hospital District and Clay County Hospital.

Stover said there will not be any actual training on the day of the job fair, but attendees will be able to obtain information about training programs.

"Hopefully, participants can walk away with a job, or walk away with the information needed to help them get a job," Stover said.

Stover added it is recommended attendees come dressed professionally, bring their resume and be prepared to interview with on-site recruiters and speak with education supervisors. Clinical and non-clinical positions will be discussed.

To pre-register, contact Kelli Stover at 899-1052. Walk-in registration is acceptable as well. The event is free to attend.

SSM Health Good Samaritan Hospital and SSM Health St. Mary's Hospital are also hosting a job fair in Centralia from 1 to 7 p.m. Nov. 30 at the Centralia Recreation Complex.
