Library: Job fair provides opportunities - Fayetteville Observer

Let's face it, searching for a job is a very tedious and time consuming task. Why not let your local library help you with your job searching needs all under a single roof. With our wealth of resources, job and career classes and our annual job fair, we are more than equipped to help you gain the skills needed to procure a job. No matter if you are currently unemployed or underemployed, the library holds the tools to aid you in your success.

Cumberland County Public Library & Information Center will host a job fair Aug. 19 from 10a.m. to 2 p.m. at Headquarters Library, 300 Maiden Lane.

The job fair is designed to target various professions, including banking, manufacturing, sales, financial, technical, trade, information technology and military, along with federal and county governments. The vast ranges of professions listed are a direct representation of the diverse employment opportunities within Cumberland County and its surrounding counties. If you are looking for educational, professional or skilled employment, there will be something for you.

Job fairs are filled with great opportunities that give participants a chance to interview with perspective employers before you submit an application or resume. On this day, the library will offer on-site resume and interviewing classes, with designated computers to help construct your resume, along with several job searching workshops to ensure that you are equipped with the tools and knowledge needed to be successful in your job search. If your schedule limits you from coming to the job fair, you can always call any of our eight locations to schedule an appointment for a librarian to assist you with employment resources.

Helping job seekers discover new pathways to employment is one way the library helps members of the community to get back on their feet. The library provides job seekers with valuable information which could result in landing the job they absolutely deserve.

Job searching is one of the most frustrating, yet humbling, experiences a person can undergo. The job fair offers many resources to ensure your job search is a success.
