Grand Rapids School District hosting job fair Saturday - MLive.com

GRAND RAPIDS, MI - Grand Rapids Public Schools, one of West Michigan's largest employers, is holding a job fair Saturday, March 24, at Alger Middle School.

In addition to teaching staff, GRPS is looking for individuals to fill current and upcoming positions in multiple areas, including nursing, security, facilities and operations, transportation, nutrition services, support services, and skilled trades.

The job fair is scheduled from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., at Alger, located at 921 Alger St. NE. On-site interviews and hiring will be available for select schools and departments.

"I encourage job seekers to visit the job fair, learn about the opportunities, and join the movement as a GRPS employee," said Superintendent Teresa Weatherall Neal, about the district that employs approximately 2,800.

"Grand Rapids Public Schools is gaining state and national attention as a model public urban school district."

Representatives from human resources will be available at the job fair to answer questions and assist with applications.

The following benefits may be available to GRPS employees: health insurance, dental insurance, vision insurance, life insurance, retirement savings accounts, long term disability, short term disability, flexible spending accounts, tuition reimbursement, professional development, and paid time off.

Job fair attendees can register in advance on the district website. Under the careers tab, select "job fair quick form" and choose "Grand Rapids District Job Fair" from the drop down list. There are more than 100 positions to be filled.
