Green Thumb sets town hall, job fair in Danville - Sunbury Daily Item

DANVILLE — Green Thumb Industries, scheduled to open a medical marijuana growing plant in Danville, will hold a town hall meeting and a job fair in September.

The town hall with Green Thumb CEO Pete Kadens, a Bucknell University graduate, will be held from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Sept. 12 in the Danville Municipal Building, at 239 Mill St., according to Susie Schneider, of Green Thumb Industries in Chicago.

The career fair and job opportunities forum will be held from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Sept. 13 in the municipal building.

At the town hall, she said people are urged to ask questions about the marijuana industry and Green Thumb Industries, learn about the benefits of medical marijuana for patients and understand the economic benefits of the program.

People looking for jobs should bring resumes. They will learn what jobs are available, when hiring will begin and meet the Green Thumb team.

In June, Green Thumb was announced as one companies receiving state approval to grow cannabis for certain medical purposes in a 50,000-square-foot warehouse.

The firm plans to hire 50 people and eventually employ up to 100 at the Iron Town Commerce Center, which is formerly TRW, at East Market and Railroad streets.

GTI Pennsylvania LLC is part of Green Thumb Industries with 11 locations in Nevada, Massachusetts, Illionis and Maryland including cultivation centers in Nevada, Illinois and Massachusetts.

The company was chosen as one of two in Pennsylvania's northcentral region to grow medical marijuana.
