Lexington Medical Center hosts job fair blitz

Columbia, S.C. (WACH) --Hundreds of people eager for a career in healthcare came out to the Lexington Medical Center Job Fair on Saturday.

The hospital is looking to fill over 400 openings, with over 250 being full-time positions.

The positions available for those interested in applying include:

  • Emergency department nurses;
  • Inpatient nurses;
  • Medical assistants;
  • Patient sitters;
  • Surgical technologists;
  • Pharmacy technicians;
  • Information services specialists;
  • Food services, and more.

Dr. Aneesaa Dean Carlos, Associate Director of Training & Development at Lexington Medical, says they do this to not only be more engaged with the community they serve but to get the community involved in a personal way in helping to create the vision Lexington Medical hopes to achieve.

"We're looking to fill positions with the right candidates," said Dr. Dean Carlos. "So, we want folks that are compassionate and caring and want to take care of patients and customers and want to join our culture here at Lexington...and be ready to join our team and take care of the community and help us to continue to meet the needs of our customers."

Over 500 applicants showed up for the job fair, which included several on-the-spot interviews.
