Indian Valley Chamber of Commerce holding first job fair March 8 - The Reporter

FRANCONIA >> Full-time, part-time and seasonal jobs will be included among those employers are looking to fill at the Indian Valley Chamber of Commerce's first job fair, according to event information.

It will be 2 to 6 p.m. Tuesday, March 8 at Franconia Heritage Banquet & Conference Center, 508 Harleysville Pike (the intersection of Route 113 and Allentown Road in Franconia).

"Job seekers from all professions and industries are invited to attend this free job fair," according to the information.

Although this is the first time the IVCC is holding a job fair, it won't be the last and will likely become an annual event, Steven Hunsberger, IVCC's executive director, said.

"I have personally seen a lot of businesses that have been holding smaller job fairs," Hunsberger said.

Having the combined job fair pools resources and gives a chance for more people and businesses to be involved in it and to have a bigger variety of available positions for the job seekers, he said.

"It's a way for this chamber to bring value to the businesses in this community," he said.

With about two weeks to go until the job fair, the line-up of employers signed up to take part included A&T Chevrolet-Subaru, Bergey's Inc., Care & Share Thrift Shoppes, Franconia Heritage, Godshall's Quality Meats, Living Branches, Indian Creek Foundation, Moyer Indoor/Outdoor, Peaceful Living, Response Electric, Solar Atmosphere, Univest and Souderton Area School District.

The deadline for employers to register to be part of the job fair is March 4. Hunsberger said he expected there to be a total of about 20 employers.

Moyer Indoor/Outdoor is the presenting sponsor.

Businesses do not need to be an Indian Valley Chamber of Commerce member to be in the job fair and not all the businesses that will be there are IVCC members, Hunsberger said.

Job seekers are reminded to bring copies of their resume.
