Ketua Panitia Job Fair Basri Dahlan mengungkapkan, bursa kerja yang digelar di halaman kampus ini merupakan yang pertama kali. Acara yang mendatangkan berbagai perusahaan ini menyikapi atas minimnya bursa kerja. Terlebih banyak perusahaan yang melakukan pengurangan karyawan. Ia membeberkan, tahun lalu ada sekitar 20 perusahaan yang datang ke Poltekba jelang akhir tahun. Biasanya mereka menawarkan pekerjaan bagi mahasiswa yang hendak lulus. Gilead House director of economic services Jenni Mykkanen finds it's no coincidence that other studies have revealed as many as 75 percent of ex-felons are still unemployed after one year of release, and in addition, the latest state numbers show 55 percent of ex-felons are unemployed. In an attempt to change those statistics locally, the Gilead House created a job fair for ex-offenders in 2014 to help people looking to turn their lives in the right direction. PLAINWELL MI –The JBS slaughterhouse and meat processing facility in Plainwell will host an on-site job fair Saturday to try to fill 60 production jobs. "During the job fair, JBS Human Resources representatives will conduct on-site interviews and will hire the right candidates on the spot," the company stated in a press release. The job fair is scheduled for 9 a.m.-2 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 3, at the plant, located at 11 11th St. in Plainwell. "We're expanding our workforce and we want great people to be a part of our success," the company stated in its release. "JBS seeks to make permanent hires for workers who want a great benefits package and opportunities for growth in a long-term career."
